Maintaining a home takes time, whether you live in a mansion or a tiny apartment.
Instead of trying to do too much at once, keep up with our February Maintenance Checklist and take care of your home easily.
Home Maintenance Checklist Series
Before your next grocery shopping trip, clean your fridge and your freezer by throwing away expired food. See if you have doubles of anything and combine.
Take out anything that’s left and quickly wipe surfaces. Wipe the containers and put them back. Vacuum behind and under your fridge and clean coils.
If you move quickly, it shouldn’t take you more that 15-20 minutes.
Yes friends, it’s that time of year again. Don’t wait until the last minute, gather your tax related papers and see about extra retirement saving contributions.
There are items you put directly in your recycling bin or bag, and others you have to take to an Eco-Station yourself.
This month, gather your hard to recycle materials: paint, oil, batteries, old appliances, broken electronics, etc., and make a trip to the Eco-Station.
4. Rarely Used Areas
Maybe you use all of your living space. In that case, you can skip this one. But if you have areas that are rarely used, like a spare bedroom, a home-gym or like us an entire unfinished basement, twice a year take the time to vacuum and dust. Unfortunately, dust accumulates there too!
5. Self-Care Zones
Bathrooms are well used in most homes. Once a year, make sure their bones are in good condition by checking the grout and seals. Do any repairs if needed; you don’t want water infiltration that is going to cause major damage down the road.
Valentine’s Day is coming up! Go buy yourself some fresh flowers or a new plant and love on your home.
