Maintaining a home takes time, whether you live in a mansion or a tiny apartment.
Instead of trying to do too much at once, keep up with our Monthly Maintenance Checklist and take care of your home effortlessly.
March Maintenance Checklist – Home Series
1. Limit allergens
Make sure you take care of your heating system and limit dust and potential allergens by changing the filter regularly.
If you’re not responsible for that task; vacuum and/or wipe your heaters.
It’s also a good idea to flip and vacuum your mattress. Most vacuums come with a special attachment design for this task.
Depending on where you live, you could also refresh your linens by switching heavier sheets and throws for lighter ones.
2. Water cleaning tools
Check faucet leaks and change washers if need be. This will help prevent leaks and water damage.
Clean clogged faucets and shower heads with white vinegar. You can check Melissa Maker’s video from Clean My Space for simple instructions.
To keep your washer, dryer and dishwasher working well, clean and check filters and vents. Disinfect washers with baking soda and a cup of white vinegar (video).
3. Kitchen
Recently I cleaned the drawers in my kitchen. It’s always surprising to find so many crumbs in the utensil drawers (Eww!). The cupboards are not different, plus you might be surprised to find spare cups and glasses you never use that could be decluttered.
