Life can be overwhelming at times and things sure turn into chaos rapidly if we’re thrown off our routines.
Sometimes though, all you need is 15 minutes to get things back on track.
Use the magical power or concentrated focus to get a tiny area of your home or life decluttered and organized.
Give your Nightstand a Makeover, Minimalist Style
It’s finally spring and it’s time to do a little nightstand decluttering.
Bedside tables tend to attract bits and bobs from the day. Unfortunately, most of us don’t necessarily clean it when morning comes.
Your nightstand is probably the last thing you see before you get to bed and the first thing that pops in your view in the morning. So, make sure it’s fresh, clean and free of clutter.
Let’s go exploring. What do you keep on there? Your phone, a few books perhaps, or work documents, some self-care products, a glass of water and an alarm clock? What else?
In my opinion, your bedroom should be kept for sleeping and … you know 😉 So, take anything related to work and move it somewhere else.
Now get your supplies ready:
Here we go!
- Set a timer for 15 minutes
- Empty your drawers and clean that tabletop
- Quickly vacuum inside and under if needed, you may need to take the drawers out
- Clean the inside of the drawers and wipe the shelves and top
- If you have containers, clean them
- Go through your items and decided what stays and what goes.
Try to keep it super simple: one book, the one you’re actually reading, a notepad and pen and whatever you use for an alarm (no judgment here).
I also keep: a lip balm, a sleep mask and my PJs. I don’t even fold them, I just throw them in the bottom drawer, but they’re always put away.
There you go, all done!
You can now have a good night’s sleep and wake up refreshed without seeing clutter first thing in the morning.
