A new year often brings renewed energy to tackle something you’ve always wanted. It’s at least a chance to start anew with a fresh perspective.
Maybe one of your goal this year is to declutter your home or to live a more mindful life.
Maybe you’ve been intrigued by minimalism, but you’re not sure if it’s for you or not.
In the last few years I’ve done some online courses that were really interesting and expanded my views on decluttering and minimalism and I thought I could share them with you.
p.s. The first two are starting right away.
A Simple Year (No longer available)
The first class I did is A Simple Year. As the names states, it’s a year long course about living a simple life. Each month you got works from a new expert like Brook McAlary, The Minimalists and of course Courtney Carver the creator of this program, plus homework or bonus readings.
Every month touches on a different aspect of minimalism such as clutter, money, travel, etc., so you get the full spectrum of all the areas you can simplify your life.
At first, I was afraid I wasn’t going to be able to follow along for a whole year, but the pace is absolutely sustainable.
This has been replaced by The Simplicity Space.
Check it out if you feel like this could help you.
The other course I did just last year. Uncluttered (affiliate link) was a bit more hands-on work, but also easy to follow. It’s a 12 week program focused mainly on decluttering.
Completing the course with my husband was eye opening. I usually consult him before I declutter a common area, but he surprised me by getting at his own stuff like never before and removing even more items than I would have, in previously paired down spaces. Also, it really helped us in tricky areas that had been left to clutter up again.
We got rid of a whole bunch of items … two truckloads to be exact.
If you feel like you need a gentler and shorter way into minimalism, try the 30-day email course from No Sidebar.
Each day you get an email in your inbox that challenges you on a variety of subjects and areas to simplify. This course comes, like the others with a Facebook group and you get the course summary at the end, to revisit when needed.
There is no registration deadline, so you can take it whenever it’s convenient for you.
Very uplifting and easy to follow.
I hope they inspire you to start or restart your journey towards a simple and joyful life.
